Russia and China to launch mutual goods transportation using drones this summer
Russia and China plan to launch mutual goods transportation using drones in the summer of 2026. This was announced by Russian Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin at the International Transport and Logistics Forum.
The first international drone flight between Russia and China will take place this summer in Blagoveshchensk. Drones in the form of a Firebird (for Russia) and a Phoenix (for China) will cross the border over the Amur River during the "Taste shores" festival. According to Nikitin, this event will be the first step toward establishing international unmanned transportation of goods between Russia and China.
Developments are underway to launch unmanned traffic along the Primorye-2 international transport corridor, one of the key multimodal freight routes between the two countries, earlier the Russian Ministry of Transport reported.
