Medtech companies receive approximately 5 billion rubles in preferential financing
25 small medical technology companies received financial support totaling 5 billion rubles. The preferential financing was provided to manufacturers of modern medicines to treat oncology and diabetes, blood glucose monitoring equipment, as well as companies developing bionic prostheses and neural platforms. This was reported by the press service of the SME Corporation.
The funds have been allocated by the SME Corporation and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation since 2022 as part of a special financing program.
Since the program's launch, 25 medtech companies have received 4.9 billion rubles in preferential financing, Alexander Isaevich, CEO of the SME Corporation, said. According to Isaevich, medical development is critically important and requires targeted support measures, as it directly impacts the provision of vital medications that are currently in no way inferior to their foreign counterparts.
Small technology companies can receive financing from the SME Corporation and the Russian Ministry of Economic Development at SME Bank on preferential terms—at a "key minus 7" rate, which currently stands at an APR of 7.25%. Since 2022, more than 400 small businesses have received preferential loans in monetary terms, with the total amount of loans reaching 65.7 billion rubles.
